Dubai Robotics and Automation Programme launched by Sheikh Hamdan
The Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, and Chairman of Dubai Future Foundation, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, launched the Dubai Robotics and Automation (R&A) Programme to accelerate the development, testing, and adoption of robotics and automation in key sectors of the economy.
The launch was held during Sheikh Hamdan’s visit to Dubai Future Labs, an applied research and development facility that specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence. With this new initiative, Dubai will strengthen its reputation as one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world and raise its regional and global leadership.
“The Dubai Robotics and Automation Programme aims to increase the sector’s contribution to Dubai’s GDP to 9 percent within 10 years. We seek to make Dubai one of the world’s top 10 cities in R&A by adopting and developing advanced robotics technologies, empowering national talent, and generating innovative new solutions, products, and services,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
Through five key initiatives, the Dubai Future Foundation’s Programme will accelerate research and development in five key areas. The Program will provide 200,000 robots over the next 10 years to increase efficiency and productivity in various sectors, including services, logistics, and the industrial sector. This will increase Dubai’s competitiveness.
